In addition to OC Transpo
rural express routes, there are several private companies providing peak-period
commuter service to villages and towns outside of Ottawa’s city limits. Communities connected to Ottawa through the rural
partners include Arnprior in the northwest, Perth and
Merrickville in the southwest, Hawkesbury in the
east, Cornwall in the southeast, and Kemptville and
Winchester in the south. Vehicles used
range from school buses on the shorter routes to luxury coaches on the
long-distance routes. Many of the
partners also offer fare integration with OC Transpo,
either through the OC Transpo-offered regional pass
or through the partner passes being accepted on OC Transpo
buses.
