Thom Transit is a charter bus company with
facilities in Gatineau, Quebec, and Deep River and Pembroke, Ontario. The Gatineau garage provides buses for charter
and for commuter service from downtown Ottawa to Almonte, Arnprior, Carleton
Place, and many other communities west of Ottawa, as well as school bus service
in the City of Gatineau. The Pembroke
and Deep River garages provide buses for Pembroke’s transit service and is the
home of the AECL employee shuttle, which links the labs in Chalk River with
Pembroke in the south and Deep River in the north. The Pembroke fleet consists of a few cutaway
buses and second-hand MCI Classics, while the much larger Gatineau fleet
consists mainly of school buses and highway coaches including a variety of MCI
and Prevost buses.
