North Country Page

The North Country, located just south of the Canadian border, is the least populated region in New York State.  The region is dominated by the Adirondack State Park, which covers more than 9300 square miles and is one of the largest natural areas in the United States.  There are only two cities large enough to support transit systems: Watertown, about an hour-long drive north of Syracuse and two hours south of Ottawa, with a population of about 35,000; and Plattsburgh, about an hour south of Montreal and three hours north of Albany, with a population of 19,000.  Follow the links below to see photos of buses in Watertown and Plattsburgh.
