Since 1961, St. Catharines Transit has been
providing bus service in the cities of St. Catharines and Thorold, which are
home to about 131,000 people. The bus
fleet consists of Orion V and VI; and New Flyer D40i Invero, D40LF, DE40LF,
DE40LFR, D60LF and XD40 Xcelsior buses.
Transfers with Niagara Falls Transit and Welland Transit can be made a
Brock University in the south end of St. Catharines.

9160, 9265 & 9987 were two Orion V buses, one from 1991 and the other from 1992, and a 1999 Orion VI which were leased to Niagara Falls Transit during the summer of 2009 for use on the Falls Shuttle service. All of these buses were returned to St. Catharines after the summer, and 9160 was retired in November 2009, though 9265 and 9987 were still in service during the summer of 2011. (Photo by jmegs) |

91 is a 2002 New Flyer Invero, spotted boarding riders at the Pen Centre on Sept. 4, 2007. St. Catharines was the first city to purchase the Invero. Only six other cities followed: London, Burlington, and Ottawa, Ontario; Winnipeg, Manitoba; Everett, Washington and Aspen, Colorado. |
