The city of Orillia is situated at the the
north end of Lake Simcoe, at the junction with Lake Couchiching, about an hour
north of Barrie and two hours south of North Bay. Orillia Transit provides bus service for the
city’s 30,000 residents from Monday to Saturday, operating every half-hour from
the corner of Peter Street and Mississauga Street. There are four bus routes that are
interlined—Laclie with North and South with West—permitting transfer-free
access to many parts of the city. The
small bus fleet totals seven vehicles, including Orion V, New Flyer D40LF and
Thomas buses.
