The bus service operated by the North San Diego
County Transit District, called the Breeze, carries passengers in the north San
Diego County region from Oceanside to Del Mar, northeast to Escondido, east to
Ramona; north to Fallbrook and to San Clemente in Orange County–including
service for Camp Pendleton Marine Corps Base. The region served is more than
1,020 square miles in area and has a population of approximately 842,000
people, served by 53 fixed routes and several demand responsive routes. The fleet consists of New Flyer D35LF and
D40LF, and Dennis Dart buses, totalling about 165 vehicles. Connections with the rest of San Diego County
can be made using the Coaster commuter rail service and MTS express bus routes.
