Transit in and around Sudbury is provided by
Greater Sudbury Transit, which was formed in 2000 by combining the existing
Sudbury bus service with the surrounding commuter bus lines. Thus, Greater Sudbury Transit has an enormous
service area for its fleet, connecting Sudbury with the outlying communities of
Capreol, Chelmsford, Copper Cliff and Falconbridge, while providing trans-cab
service to Long Lake, Whitefish and Wahnapitae.
There are 42 buses in the fleet, which consists of MCI Classic, Orion I
and V, NovaBus LFS, and New Flyer D40LF buses.
All routes except the trans-cabs meet at the Transit Centre in downtown
Sudbury, and service is provided seven days a week from about 7 AM until
midnight, with a special schedule for late evenings and Sundays.
