Deseronto Transit is a small bus service that
was started in 2007 to provide bus service to residents of Hastings,
Lennox & Addington and Prince Edward Counties, including the communities of
Napanee, Deseronto, Picton and through the Tyendinaga Mohawk Reserve. The buses also provide regular service to the
Belleville bus terminal. The service
operates Monday to Friday from 5:00 AM until 6:00 PM, along with limited
on-demand service on Saturday. The bus
fleet currently three vehicles: a Dodge Caravan, a wheelchair-accessible Ford
Econoline/Girardin cutaway and a recently acquired 2008 Dodge Sprinter. Deseronto Transit began service with a 1988
New Flyer D35, originally from Santa Cruz MTD in California, and a 1995 Ford
B-Series/Thomas FS-65 conventional school-type bus, both of which were
determined to be too large for the town’s needs and were retired in 2009.
