Brampton
Transit provides bus service throughout the city of Brampton, which is
immediately north of Mississauga and west of Vaughan. The fleet consists of 339 buses, including
Orion V and VI, New Flyer D40LF and Xcelsior XD40,
and NovaBus LFS buses, and until 2012 a single
Leyland Olympian double-decker brought out for special occasions. The service population is 434,000. Connections can be made with Mississauga
Transit and the TTC at the Westwood Mall in Malton
and at various other locations where the systems meet. Brampton Transit also operates a rapid
transit system called Züm, currently operating
along Highway 7 between York University in Toronto and the Bramalea
Transit Centre, and on Main Street and Hurontario
Street between Sandalwood
Parkway and the Mississauga City Centre Transit Terminal, using a fleet of 63
specially-painted New Flyer Xcelsior XDE40 and XDE60
buses, and planned to expand into a network of BRT routes along key arteries
throughout the city.
